UK weather: Hardy beach-goers enjoy first glimpse of sun as forecasters promise warm weekend
Temperatures will reach 26C (80F) for the start of the school holidays, with sun worshippers hitting Fistral beach in Newquay already. But before then, parts of the country have been warned of further heavy downpours after overnight flooding in Essex.
